Highly recommend this tour. We visited a redevelopment project along a river, next to low-income neighborhoods, received a tour through neighborhoods I would never have been able to explore myself (I don't speak Spanish), explored a market, tried different food, at one stop they made fresh empanadas for us, I have never seen that before; then we took the teleferico. The guides were great, it also offered the opportunity to talk to and address questions to native Dominicans. I also liked that I med other travelers on the tour.
The guides spoke good English, were knowledgeable, I felt in good hands all the time.
Went there for 2 weeks with the family. Juan, the owner of the tours is such a gem. Very hardworking guide, who wants the best for his tourists. We booked all tours via him. Did 3 tours ; the Dominican Neighbourhood Tour, the Lighthbouse-Tres Ojos-Boca Chica tour & the Colonial Zone tour. All different, but such beautiful and authentic experiences. Just a special shout out to Juan, who went all out of his way to give us the best time. Would surely book Urbano Tours again.
I had a historical tour of the Zona Colonial with Nelson from Urbano Tours, and it was fantastic. He is exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. I was so impressed by his ability to recall so many facts and dates—he truly brought the history of Santo Domingo to life.
